The Software Test Engineer I – position provides an opportunity for aspirants who aspire to get into deep understanding of software for instruments used for protein and cell analysis, and to get hands on experience working with team in a fast-paced software design and software quality assurance environment. The Software Test Engineer I in the role, will contribute to project development and testing by assessing new software to ensure that its performance meets product and customer requirements. Software Test Engineer I shall help perform verification and validation testing on instruments to learn about the integrity of the product itself and its performance in different environments.

Test Planning and Strategy for Thermo Fisher Careers:

Work closely with Product owner and development team to understand project requirements and objectives.
Develop comprehensive test plans and testing strategies based on project documentation.
Ensure that all tested related work is carried out as per the defined standards and procedures

Test Case Design and Execution:

Create detailed and well-structured test cases that cover all functional aspects of the software.
Execute functional test cases to validate that the software meets specified requirements.

Regression Testing:

Conduct regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not adversely impact existing functionality.
Identify and document any regressions or deviations from expected behaviour.

Defect Tracking and Reporting:

Document and report defects, issues, and anomalies identified during testing.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or any branch of life sciences with good academic background
Good understanding of software testing principles and methodologies
Use of offline software tools for image analysis, flow cytometry data
Strong analytical and problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Proficient in MS office, statistical analysis tools.
ISTQB or other relevant certifications and Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies are advantageous but not required.
